Welcome to The Police Connection

"The Redmond ‘Jimmy’ O’Hanlon Fund"

The Police Connection, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, was created in 1999 by Founder Peter Killeen. Originally flag.jpgit began as a call-in radio talk show focusing on police officers and the public. It aired for several years in New York City.

Shortly thereafter, The Police Connection added to its services a Legal Defense Fund. This fund was created to assist officers in defraying their legal expenses not covered by their union or department, which in most instances can become very costly.

jimmyohanlon.jpgA September 11th Fund was established, and renamed, "The Redmond 'Jimmy' O'Hanlon Fund," in honor and memory of Retired Port Authority Police Officer Jimmy O’Hanlon, who worked tirelessly in the rescue and recovery efforts for those lost on September 11th. Tragically, we lost this incredibly kind, brave and generous human being shortly after the completion of the recovery work at the World Trade Center site. Presently, The Police Connection, in the memory of Officer O’Hanlon, continues to assist officers in need of financial assistance based on the specific situation and level of need.

From year to year, there are a variety of worthy causes that are considered for assistance and charitable services supporting the police of the tri-state area.

We hope that you will become an ongoing supporter and benefactor of The Police Connection.
